Bernina Ruffler Foot 86

The ruffler #86 is the specialist for gathering and pleating fabrics.

Thanks to its variable settings, you can choose both the depth and the frequency of the gathering.

Depending on the settings, the Ruffler #86 can create a gathered pleat at every stitch, every 6 stitches or every 12 stitches.

You can also sew normally without gathering (gathering setting = 0).

The gathering is created by the special tab on the presser foot.

Together with the up-and-down movement of the needle, the fabric is fed evenly under the needle.

This results in neat, even gathers on home décor items or garments.

The depth of the pleats can be adjusted gradually by turning the special adjustment screw.
