With the L 860 overlocker, you can create 3- and 4-thread overlock stitches, flat seams, rolled hems and reinforcement stitches, as well as wrapped overlock stitches, all selectable via the color touchscreen.

The exclusive BERNINA one-step air threader system makes threading the looper incredibly easy.

Our Swiss engineers have created a true masterpiece that is also great fun to use. The big advantage: while threading the two loopers, your hands remain free to guide the threads. All it takes is a simple press of the foot pedal and the air blast guides the threads through the designated channels in the blink of an eye. Innovative, fast and simple!

The L 860 automatically positions the loopers in the correct position for air threading: you don't have to turn the handwheel or search for the right position, just press the pedal and you're done!

Threading the needle is a piece of cake thanks to the integrated needle threader and automatic needle stop at the top position.

Single-path threading with color coding lets you switch in no time from an overlock stitch to a rolled hem or flat seam without having to change the threading path.

The L 860 can be easily operated with the central color touchscreen.

Stitch selection, individual stitch settings, stitch properties or memory function: the touchscreen puts all the information you need at your fingertips whenever you need it and lets you make changes while sewing. Operation can be carried out in two modes: experienced users can apply all the desired settings directly, quickly and individually in Expert Mode, while in Guided Mode beginners receive detailed instructions for stitch selection, machine settings and stitch optimization. Both modes automatically set thread tension, stitch length and differential feed during stitch selection.

All settings can be individually adjusted, and the personalized stitch can be saved in the personal program. Stitch length, differential feed and thread tension can also be adjusted while sewing. Needle stop up/down can be set permanently, depending on the type of project.

The Micro Thread Control (mtc) function allows precise adjustment of the amount of thread that wraps around the fabric edge, simply by turning the dedicated dial. Perfect overlock, flat seams and rolled hems, as well as ideal decorative edges for your sewing projects thanks to total stitch control.

The L 860 reaches a maximum sewing speed of 1,500 stitches per minute.

The motor is precisely controlled by the BERNINA foot pedal, ensuring consistent performance and precision at any sewing speed. Not only can you sew quickly, but you can also sew slowly down to 250 stitches per minute or one stitch at a time, making it easier to create precise lines and flawless curves. And all this with extremely quiet operation, a quality that has always distinguished BERNINA. It is even possible to program the maximum and minimum speed.

Many functions offer sewing comfort that meets the highest demands: by pressing the heel on the foot pedal, the needle lifts or lowers by half a stitch, making handling the material easier.

BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) raises and lowers the presser foot via a convenient knee lifter, leaving both hands free to guide the work: a great advantage when sewing corners. The presser foot can be swung aside for easier access to the needles.
