Find the stitch or embroidery motif you want and fine-tune thread tension using the conveniently positioned 5-inch colour touchscreen in the centre of the machine.

Quickly change the stitch length or width, or the position of your embroidery motif, using the multifunction dials.

Bright and spacious, for fast and accurate sewing You won't be left in the dark thanks to the four LEDs that illuminate the sewing area with 230 mm of space to the right of the needle.

The free-arm extension table gives you more space and greater comfort for quilting and large sewing projects.

Decorative and quilting stitches to add unique details: with the b79 you can sew hems and zigzag seams, sew T-shirts in stretch fabrics and even choose from 17 different buttonholes.

There are not only utility stitches: create truly eye-catching details with 133 decorative stitches and 35 quilting stitches.

Want to modify standard stitches or create new ones? It's all possible with the Stitch Designer function.

Individual stitch settings are temporarily stored and you can save them in your memory for future projects.

Automatic thread cutter and tie-off function Thanks to the automatic tie-off function, you no longer need to sew backwards to prevent the seam from unravelling.

Just press the tie-off button at the end of the seam.

Press the automatic thread cutter button, the threads are cut and the seam is finished!

Want to do it even faster? Program these functions for your back-kick foot control – press the pedal once, and the seam is automatically finished and the threads are cut!

Sewing more comfortably With the semi-automatic needle threader, threading the needle is child's play: the presser foot is automatically lowered into the correct position and the additional thread cutter holds the thread in place.

The knee lift for raising or lowering the presser foot will make your sewing more comfortable, since your hands are free to guide the fabric.

With the integrated Dual Feed, which is easy to activate, materials of any kind are fed evenly from the top and the bottom.

With the three included hoops, it's easy to find the right hoop for the size of your embroidery.

You can embroider up to 260 x 160 mm without having to hoop the fabric again.

The hoops open and close easily thanks to the quick-release system.

The automatic hoop recognition function lets you see the preset embroidery area of each hoop on the touchscreen, so you can fit the embroidery motif perfectly.

Embroidery motifs: endless creative possibilities

208 embroidery motifs and 7 alphabets are pre-installed on the machine, so you have a wide selection of motifs at your disposal.

The motifs can be edited on the touchscreen, so you can easily rotate, mirror or combine individual elements.

The b79 is compatible with most embroidery motif formats: you will no longer need software to convert files.

Each module contains a wide selection of embroidery motifs downloadable from the BERNINA cloud.

You can also edit embroidery motifs directly in the cloud, using a tablet or laptop.

For the best sewing and embroidery results with the 7 mm needle plate, you can sew beautiful decorative stitches up to 7 mm wide.

The straight-stitch needle plate is supplied as standard with the b79 to achieve flawless embroidery results.

The machine automatically recognises the needle plate in use, shows you all compatible needles and automatically adjusts the stitch width range.
