The BERNINA L 890 is perfect for working with all types of fabric, especially highly stretchy fabrics and knits, as well as many types of yarn.

It sews, cuts and finishes in a single operation, and your sewing projects will take shape perfectly in next to no time. It sews with 2, 3, 4 or 5 threads, offering the perfect stitch for every need. As a combo machine, it offers three different functions: overlock stitches, cover stitches and 4- and 5-thread combination stitches.

The one-step BERNINA air threading makes threading the loopers incredibly easy. Our Swiss engineers have created a true masterpiece that is also a lot of fun to use. The big advantage: when threading both loopers, your hands stay free to guide the threads.
A simple press of the foot control is all it takes, and the puff of air guides the threads through the designated channels in no time at all. Innovative, fast and easy!

The L 890 automatically positions the loopers in the correct position for air threading: you do not need to turn the handwheel or look for the right position, just press the foot control and you're done!
The evenly routed, color-coded threading paths allow you to switch from an overlock stitch to a cover stitch or a combination stitch in no time at all.

The L 890 can be easily operated via the central color touchscreen.

Stitch selection, individual stitch settings, stitch properties or memory function: the touchscreen keeps all available information at your fingertips whenever you need it and allows you to make changes while sewing. A creative sewing consultant, stitch optimizer and helpful animations are available for all functions.

Operation can be carried out in two modes: experienced users can apply all desired settings directly, quickly and individually in Expert mode, while in Guided mode beginners receive detailed instructions for stitch selection, machine settings and stitch optimization. Both modes automatically set the thread tension, stitch length and differential feed during stitch selection.

All settings can be individually adjusted and the custom stitch can be saved in the personal program. Stitch length, differential feed and thread tension can also be adjusted while sewing. The needle stop up/down can be set permanently, depending on the type of work.

The Micro Thread Control (mtc) function allows precise adjustment of the amount of thread that wraps around the edge of the fabric, simply by turning the dedicated dial.

The L 890 reaches a maximum sewing speed of 1,350 stitches per minute.

The motor is precisely controlled by the BERNINA foot control, ensuring consistent performance and precision at any sewing speed. Not only can you sew at high speed, you can also sew slowly, one stitch at a time, making it easy to create precise lines and curves. And all this with extremely quiet operation, a quality that has always distinguished BERNINA. It is even possible to program the maximum and minimum speed.

The space offered by the machines in the L 890 Series is generous in the truest sense of the word. The space to the right of the needle is wider and the height of the work area is greater than any other BERNINA overlocker.

To sew tubular items such as sleeves or cuffs, simply slide them onto the practical free arm. In addition, the large extension table enlarges the work surface and makes sewing larger projects easier. The powerful LED light ensures maximum comfort and optimal illumination of the work area, both day and night.
