One-step air threading: magic in a single move

BERNINA's revolutionary one-step air-threading system turns one of the most time-consuming parts of sewing into a real pleasure. The looper threads automatically position themselves correctly and, with a simple press of the foot pedal, the threads are magically drawn into the machine. Both hands remain free throughout the entire process: press the pedal and, in an instant, the machine is ready to sew.

Absolute comfort thanks to the BERNINA free-hand system

The BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) lets you raise and lower the presser foot with your knee, keeping both hands free to guide the fabric with precision. The presser foot can also be swung sideways to make access to the needle easier, making every operation simpler and more intuitive than ever.

Total stitch control in real time

The L850 offers complete, customizable control over every aspect of sewing. Thread tension, cutting width, stitch length, and the exclusive Micro Thread Control (MTC) function are all individually adjustable and, above all, can be changed in real time while sewing. Infinitely adjustable differential feed ensures perfect seams on any type of fabric and thread combination.

With a speed of up to 1500 stitches per minute, the L850 delivers unbeatable, consistent power and precision at any sewing speed. Fast threading and instant technique changes

The integrated needle threader and automatic needle stop in the upper position make threading the needle child's play. The color-coded threading path, clearly illustrated in the looper cover, lets you switch in a flash from overlock stitching to a rolled hem or a flatlock seam, without having to change the threading path.

Generous workspace for every project

The L850 offers 14.3 cm of space to the right of the needle, more than any other BERNINA overlocker, with an integrated extension table that further expands the work surface. The practical free arm makes it easy and precise to sew closed items such as sleeves and cuffs, making every type of project accessible and comfortable.
